This policy explains what data the Wortie app collects, why, and how you can control it. Wortie is a German-vocabulary learning app. You can use it as a guest without an account.

1. Data we collect

• Account details — if you create an account: your email address, name, and a password (stored only in hashed form, never in plain text).
• Demographics — optional age and gender you provide during setup.
• Usage activity — in-app events such as words learned, quizzes completed, stories opened, and app opens.
• Installation identifier — a random ID generated on your device to distinguish installs for analytics. This is not an advertising identifier.
• Technical info — platform (Android/iOS/web) and app version.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, messages, or any financial information. Wortie contains no ads and uses no advertising identifiers.

2. How we use data

• To provide and secure your account (sign-in, email verification, password reset).
• To keep the app working (save your progress and preferences).
• To understand overall usage and improve the app (aggregate analytics).

3. Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Data is sent only to our own server at wortie.app, which we operate ourselves. All network traffic is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

4. Data retention

We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active. Guest usage data is tied only to the random installation identifier.

5. Deleting your data

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing noorislamsalman@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Wortie data”. We will delete your data within 30 days of the request.

6. Children

Wortie is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
